Bio

Jill M. Lyon has been writing all her life, but only recently decided to turn from fact to fiction. Her writing career started -- we'll skip over the short story in junior high, although she's proud of the "A" -- at age seventeen with radio and television news. After several years in front of a camera and microphone, she turned to the law, earning her J.D. degree from a top-five law school. This led to a twenty-year career in Washington, D.C. representing good people before the Federal government as an executive with non-profit industry associations.
In 2009, Jill left the East Coast to move to the West, where her interests turned to volunteering in city and county government, economic development and the arts. She and her husband moved to Arizona in 2019.
Jill likes to find humor in the foibles of everyday life, but is deadly serious about correct usage of the amazing English language. Sorry. And as staff to both dogs and cats, she can argue the relative merits of each.

The Summer Festival is Murder

August 3, 2021

The first Felice Bowes Mystery!

Big-city transplant Felice Bowes is as shocked as everyone else in her small Oregon town when a controversial local official is viciously killed during the biggest festival of the season. She's even more surprised when the local police chief asks her to help with the investigation, especially since she didn't like the victim and some of the locals would like her to be the guilty party. As she gathers information and interviews fellow residents, she's most worried about the damage the tragedy is causing to the community, as well as for her own future.
